Entre 6 de Março e 7 de Abril está aberta a chamada para a submissão de resumos para a VI Conferência Internacional do CHAM “Heritage for a commom future/Futures for a common heritage”. O Projecto Vaulted South organiza o painel P19 (Re)Envisioning the Vernacular Built Heritage, que tem como objectivo aprofundar as seguintes questões à luz de trabalhos de investigação recentes:
“Qual é o papel atual e futuro do património edificado vernáculo? Como pode ser protegido e patrimonializado? Como é que o conhecimento vernáculo construído pode contribuir para um debate mais amplo, incisivo e estratégico na formulação de políticas sobre património comum? Quais os desafios locais e globais que encara através da sustentabilidade e adaptabilidade de suas práticas inerentes?”
O painel pretende debater exemplos de construção vernácula que podem desempenhar um papel catalisador na clarificação e consolidação de uma visão de património e também como motor para a re(criação) de valores compartilhados para chegar a uma herança comum.
A conferência vai decorrer em Lisboa entre os dias 12 e 15 de Julho de 2023.

Between March 6th and April 7th, the call for paper is open for the 6th CHAM International Conference “Heritage for a common future/Futures for a common Heritage”. The Vaulted South project organizes the panel P19 (Re)Envisioning the Vernacular Built Heritage, which aims to deepen the following issues based in recent case studies:
“What is the current and future role of vernacular–built heritage? How can it be protected towards its heritagization? How can vernacular–built knowledge contribute to a broader debate about the common heritage acuteness, strategies and policy making? By investigating the sustainability and adaptability of its inherent practices, which local and global challenges might it face?”
The panel thus intends to discuss vernacular–built examples that can play a catalytic role
in clarifying and consolidating a vision of a Heritage and also as drivers for the re(creation) of shared values to come up with a common heritage.
The conference will take place in Lisbon between the 12th and 15th of July 2023.
